With the announcement a couple of weeks ago that UCLA and USC are leaving the Pac 12 and joining the Big Ten, college football realignment is once again heating up.
Which move prior to 2020 do you most wish you could undo? An easy choice would be the shuttering of the old Big East, which peaked with 16 schools for sports besides football. However, I’ve always been partial to the Big 12, so I’ll say the second wave of Big 12 departures where Missouri and Texas A&M left for the SEC.
Interestingly, the Big 12 has survived expansion well (so far), as West Virginia and TCU are natural fits. The loss of Oklahoma and Texas in 2025 will make quite the dent, though. We’ll see what dominoes are still to fall.
