Finebaum posted this perfectly reasonable question yesterday on Twitter:
What's the perfect number of teams/format for the College Football Playoff?

My response has gotten a BUNCH of attention.
Any system that gives auto bids to all conference champs. Any at larges should be limited to only one per conference. First round on campus at higher seed.

A 16 team under this format would've been wild last year:

1.Bama (SEC)
2.Mich. (B1G)
3.UGA
4.Cincy (Amer)
5.ND
6.OH St.
7.Baylor (B12)
8.OK St.
9.Utah (PAC)
10.Pitt (ACC)
11.BYU
12.Oregon
13.Louisiana (SB)
14.Utah St. (MWC)
15.UTSA (USA)
16.N. Ill (MAC)
I'm still of the mind (regardless what the SEC homers in my mentions are saying), that this is the best thing for College Football as a whole. Winning your conference will matter most. At larges would have to be 0 or 1 loss teams for the most part. It gives the G5 a chance to win it all. That's exciting football to me.
What do you guys think?
