ND are the proud owners of two of the worst losses in college football this season. Losses to Marshall and Stanford, both of which were at home. They have an easy enough schedule to get 6 wins and become bowl eligible, but they will likely get beat badly by Clemson and USC. A small and slow Syracuse team will give them all they want too.
Probably not what the Irish faithful had hoped for when Freeman was named the HC. His first order of business was to attack and belittle his alma mater. Seems like he thought being a successful HC was as easy as creating sound bytes and "drop the mic" moments. The Ohio State football program viewed him as family and he is guilty of betrayal.
An amazing day of college football was capped of when a horrible Stanford team beat ND 16-14 last night. Some say Freeman just made rookie mistakes with his off season antics. Others say it was about as classless of an act as they have ever seen. I tend to agree with the latter. The repeated cheap shots at Ohio State was a bridge way too far. He did it to rile up his fan base, but it failed spectacularly.
The school, the program, and the fanbase have pretty much seen enough. Doesn't seem like coach Freeman's tenure in South Bend will be a long one. His recruiting charm seems to be losing its luster.
