It’s no surprise, through Week 7, Ohio State is one of the most efficient teams. Based on the chart below that plots all FBS teams based on their offensive and defensive efficiency for a total team ranking, the Buckeyes are without peer on offense and also rank as one of the best defenses.
The y-axis is offense (up is better than down) and the x-axis is defense (right is better than left).
- Upper right: strong on both sides of the ball
- Lower right: weak offense but a strong defense (this is where Iowa lives with one of the weakest offenses in FBS and a defense that’s actually behind Ohio State’s)
- Upper left: strong offense, weak defense
- Lower left: weak on both sides of the ball
