I like Bruce Feldman - he is generally a good writer. But this is some nonsense.
This piece ($$) is a total slobberfest entitled "Michigan is so talented, it can win the title and break NFL draft records."
https://theathletic.com/4732923/2023/07/31/michigan-jim-harbaugh-champio...
The NFL draft record is 15 players drafted, set by Georgia. But Harbaugh thinks Michigan can get 20 players from this year's team drafted. And they can win the championship. And they are ready to go toe to toe with Georgia.
If you don't subscribe to The Athletic, the general gist is Harbaugh thinks their whole offense including reserves are getting drafted (supposedly 7 linemen will be drafted) and they are running their Beat Georgia drill etc. And the whole "stars matter" doesn't apply to Michigan (which has the 14th best roster in the country based on recruitment metrics) because either they have such great talent identification or development.
Look, I get that OSU needs to beat Michigan in order to talk smack. But this is some amazing stuff. Michigan has not won a major bowl game in years, got smacked around by Georgia two years ago and torched by TCU last year, but now they are going to win a title and set draft records? How on earth did the last two years lead people to believe this?
