Now that Oregon and Washington have joined USC and UCLA in the B1G, do you guys think the conference will still dispense with the divisional format for conference play? Or will it make more sense to retain the East/West model now that there are 18 teams? I may be wrong--I haven't thought hard about this--but it seems like with 18 teams, picking the top two teams in the league for the conference championship game based on record alone could get pretty convoluted. People are already talking about the possibility of three 11-1 teams in the B1G East at the end of this season; imagine trying to decide the conference championship matchup in a divisionless world in which four or five B1G teams finish with the same record. Seems like keeping East/West divisions could save fans (and conference officials) some serious headaches in the future, but maybe I'm off-base. What do you think?
Will the B1G Actually Get Rid of Divisions?
