As someone who as dealt with mental issues in my life, I do have compassion for people with those issues. But I also feel like in society today that term is definitely overused and cited regularly when it's convenient and/or advantageous. I don't know this kid's personal life but it seems like he was looking to play the mental health card to get to play immediately.
