In a surprising turn of events, the assumed last place Northwestern University Wildcats are (5-5) (3-4 in B10) and one win away from being bowl eligible.
After Pat Fitzgerald being fired in the wake of the hazing scandal, I thought this team was capable of 2-3 wins. They have outperformed with 5 wins.
Their last two games are home against Purdue and at Illinois. There is a real possibility that Northwestern can still make it to a bowl game. Purdue is 3-7 and Illinois is 5-5 as well.
Is anyone as surprised to see Northwestern at 5-5?
Wins: UTEP, Minnesota, Howard, Maryland, and @Wisconsin
