On the one hand, starting this thread after the season’s first week feels a little premature; on the other, Florida head coach Billy Napier’s seat was already hot after going 11-14 in two seasons, and then Miami came into the Swamp and blew out the Gators, 41-17. Virtually every CFB publication and pundit had ranked the Gators’ schedule as the toughest in the country; it’s possible that aside from Florida's Week 2 game against FCS Samford, it could be the underdog in every one of its last 10 games. The schedule ends with a murderer’s row of @Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, @Texas, LSU, Ole Miss, and @FSU. Napier’s buyout is estimated to be $65 million.
Another coach on the hotseat is Arkansas’ Sam Pittman, who’s 24-25 in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks’ schedule is considered by many to be one of the 2-3 most difficult in the country. If Arkansas struggles and Pittman is canned midseason, how characteristically SEC would it be if OC Bobby Petrino is promoted to interim head coach?
