Pete Nance, the No. 2-ranked prospect in the state of Ohio for 2018, committed to Northwestern on Thursday while on his official visit.

Nance is a 6-foot-8, four-star forward who had a final three of Northwestern, Michigan and Ohio State. He is the No. 64 overall prospect in the class, according to 247Sports composite.
The son of former NBA star Larry Nance and younger brother of current Los Angeles Laker Larry Nance Jr., Pete Nance has obvious NBA bloodlines. He's a skilled forward who can pass, shoot and handle the basketball. Nance is a Richfield, Ohio, native and attends Revere High School.
From Ohio State's perspective, this was kind of a tough call. The addition of Kyle Young probably eliminated the Buckeyes from taking two wing forwards in the 2018 class and the Buckeyes are prioritizing another in-state star, Jerome Hunter.
Ohio State is going to go guard-heavy in 2018 and there is really only one spot available for someone who can play the 3 or 4 in this class after the addition of Young in 2017. Hunter and Nance are relatively similar in that regard.
