To get ready for the 2024 season, I started watching some Buckeye (and Ole Miss) football. Even to my untrained eyes, the differing running styles of TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins were easy to spot.
What Hendeson is good at:
- High top-end speed
- Fluid runner who doesn't slow down while changing direction
- Great lateral speed
- Too quick for most linebackers
What Judkins is good at:
- More of a north-south runner
- Doesn't avoid contact, especially at the line of scrimmage
- Violent running style
- Patient runner who lets blocks develop
At this point, Judkins has a slightly better NFL projection, but I was super impressed with Henderson. He’s such a gifted runner. If he improves how he approaches the line of scrimmage at the start of his run, I think he could outplay Judkins, especially in YPC.
So, who do you think will have a better season, Henderson or Judkins? My guess is that with better coaching from Coach Locklyn, it would be Henderson.
