Happy Victory Monday, 11Wers!
With Ohio State's non-conference slate over and the Buckeyes' Big Ten season beginning Saturday at Michigan State, I bring you This Week's Question: Through three weeks of the season, who are the best teams in the Big Ten besides OSU? Or, in other words, who are the biggest threats to Ohio State to win the Big Ten title this year?
Oregon was the likely pick by many before the season and that could still be true today, but Penn State has looked solid, USC looked good before its trip to Ann Arbor this past weekend, Michigan is Michigan, Illinois is undefeated and coming off a big-time overtime win at Nebraska and the Cornhuskers showed some promise prior to losing to the Illini.
That said, my answer would still be Oregon, and Ohio State's trip to Eugene on October 12 will be one of the biggest games of the season in college football, let alone in the Big Ten. Whoever wins that game will be favored to make the Big Ten championship game. The Wolverines will continue to be a threat to the Buckeyes until OSU proves that it can win The Game for the first time since 2019, but Oregon is by far the second-best team in the conference as things currently stand.
