I owe you an apology. Last week, I, along with a lot of others, kept downvoting your posts about Penn State not dropping below Ohio State. Turns out, you were right—the committee didn’t penalize them for playing and losing in the Big Ten Championship game. I knew the committee doesn’t typically punish teams for playing, and I thought the penalty for that was limited to being dropped out of the playoffs entirely (like SMU). However, I also thought dropping a seed line or two below a team that didn’t play was possible. Clearly, I was wrong, and you called it correctly.
