I hate to say it but there is a new approach to college football. With the transfer portal, NIL, funding from the university coffers, and little allegiance to the school you signed on with out of high school. The reality of life as a life-long Buckeye fan and Michigan hater is the times aren't changing - they've already changed. My feeling is the ultimate way to get to be a national champion is by winning the Big 10 championship. My feelings have changed -- being 1-11 and the only win was against Michigan determines a good season is ridiculous. Win the Big 10 championship and hope that includes beating Michigan. Beating Michigan in the future, the way the landscape of college football has evolved, is always the goal but not the end of the world or the end of the journey -- just look at this year. Thought I'd never say that, but it is what it is.
