With teams eliminating spring games, with players entering the portal during the playoffs, with teams like Ohio state delaying and shortening spring practices, when will the college football calendar change? Will it change next year? What should it look like?
I think everyone agrees that the december transfer portal window has to go away. When should it occur?
The playoffs extend past the beginning of spring semester.
Will spring practices and spring games/showcases disappear?
Will the transfer window coincide with the end of the spring academic calendar in mid May with only one transfer window?
Will the spring team practices be moved to the period between late May and the beginning of August?
Seems like that would eliminate so much chaos, esoecially "in season chaos and tampering". Give coaches some semblance of a more normal life, maybe even a brief period of down time. Also makes things much easier for athletes considering transfers, not such rushed decisions.
So what should things look like moving forward?
