I think this topic has been kicked around, and as the year progresses may become more clear who will emerge, but it would be interesting to see who y’all are leaning toward, if you had to predict.  I was kind of in the Mitch Melton camp and then he transferred.  Just thought his perseverance to the point of his transfer was admirable.  He was unselfish as well, going from LB to DE to being the Jack.  Something tells me it could be one of the assumed starting DE’s for this year such as Caden or Kenyatta.  We have superstars that are great players that would look great wearing it, (Caleb or JJ) but do they posses enough program gravitas yet?  Maybe a relatively unknown player like Dave Adolph will emerge, in the mold of Xavier Johnson.

My guess for now is Sonny.  Partially because he’s been unselfish, he’s a legacy player, he’s been a magnet for his brother transferring, and he’s a solid physical player.  He’s likely to be the leader of the defense and a mentor in his position group to a bevy of promising talent.
