Ohio State internally promoted recruiting assistant Weston Zernechel to be its new assistant director of player personnel, Eleven Warriors has learned. He replaces Eron Hodges, who left the program to become Purdue’s director of player personnel in April.
Zernechel is a Buckeye through and through, having graduated from the university in May 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in sports industry. He was an equipment intern while in school and spent a season in the same role with the Cleveland Browns upon graduation.
Zernechel was hired by former Ohio State offensive coordinator and Texas head coach Tom Herman to be a recruiting assistant at Houston the following spring, but returned to Columbus when Herman headed to Austin last offseason.
