Another Mark Pantoni disciple has landed a job at a Football Bowl Subdivision school as a director of player personnel.
As pointed out by Buckeye Sports Bulletin's Garrett Stepien, Bowling Green has hired Devon Smith, who was previously a recruiting assistant at Ohio State, as its new director of player personnel.
Smith isn't the only Ohio State support staffer who has gone on to a larger position at Bowling Green for 2019; Louie Addazio, who was an offensive line graduate assistant for the Buckeyes for the past two seasons, joined Bowling Green's coaching staff in December as the Falcons' new tight ends coach. Scot Loeffler, Bowling Green's new head coach, previously worked for former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer at Florida (2009-10).
Smith is now one of six former Pantoni recruiting assistants working as directors of player personnel at FBS schools.
Mark Pantoni's ties run deep in college football six former recruiting assistants serve as directors of player personnel: Purdue's Eron Hodges, Rutgers' Adam Caltury, South Florida's Mike Giglio, Texas' Derek Chang, Virginia Tech's Mark Diethorn and Bowling Green's Devon Smith.
