Kyle Snyder's first shoe line broke the internet over the weekend: the presale event scheduled for high noon Sunday, to coincide with the Junior Freestyle Nationals in Fargo, crashed the website of Ohio-based apparel provider The Rudis.
The company took a mulligan and rescheduled the much-anticipated presale for Tuesday night at 9 p.m., and it looked as though Captain America's fans might be looking at a repeat performance of Sunday's site crashing. During the first hour of the event, the company's Twitter mentions were populated with messages like this one:
@the_rudis I've been trying to order 3 pairs of shoes for the last two hours. Is there a direct link to order them? This is what I'm getting. pic.twitter.com/yBXViUGMr9

Some users were unable to get onto the site at all due to the high demand, while others were able to get in, but had trouble with the PayPal payment gateway. Two hours into the presale, the company had made a serious dent in its inventory.

The upper weights came through big... size 12 and 14 are already sold out in the CALIGAS. #PositiveInfinity

The Rudis said a formal announcement would be coming "later" about when the sold-out sizes would be back in stock, but told followers to anticipate it would be this fall.
Sunday's site crash suggested that Captain America's first shoe line would be a big success, and Tuesday's successful presale event backed up that expectation. While some would-be customers were undoubtedly disappointed their size was sold out by the time they were able to attempt an order, at least one Snyder fan took a different approach to getting in on the action...
Im telling you these shoes are in high demand. Walked into practice this morning at the OTC and mine were no where to be found. They mustve thought the heck with the presale, Ill just get my pair now. Cant blame the dude!

Well, that's one way to go, I suppose.
