The Indians are activating Josh Donaldson on Tuesday and expect to have him start playing Wednesday. https://www.mlb.com/news/indians-activating-josh-donaldson-from-dl/c-294....
He’s had some hitting success on his recent rehab assignment including hitting a grand slam for the Clippers.
The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, however, are feeling put upon and complaining about the trade. (Talk about first world problems.). Apparently they arguing he wasn’t healthy enough to be cleared on waivers. https://www.cleveland.com/tribe/index.ssf/2018/09/report_rival_clubs_ups...
I’m assuming that since MLB approved the deal, it’s done. If anyone has more insight, it would be great to hear it. Sounds to me like the Indians took a risk that will hopefully pay off, and the big guys with their big payrolls are miffed.
