I'm not even a Liverpool supporter, in fact I barely watched the Premier League at all until this season, when I started supporting Chelsea (mostly because American trailblazer and US national team star Christian Pulisic plays for them), but this video is powerful and relatable to every sports fan, I think.
Liverpool recently won the Premier League title for the first time since 1990, ending a 30 year drought for the storied English club. This video beautifully encapsulates how important sports are to some people, and how they can be a glue between generations and something for parents and children to bond over.
The moment at around 30 seconds in absolutely broke me. My dad's still alive, and yet I know the day is coming when I'm holding a Buckeyes shirt just like the kid (and later man) in the video holds that scarf, thinking about my dad and what I've lost.
