This question actually applies to any team in any sport that has a season significantly affected by the virus (which I think is pretty much all of them though to different degrees). I’m an Indians fan that still hasn’t gotten over game 7 ( of the Marlins series much less the Cubs). I don’t necessarily think this will be the year it finally happens, but for argument’s sake if it did, would it mean as much? There will likely be an asterisk next to any team that wins in any sport this year, but i think baseball will have the biggest disclaimer since the regular season is cut by two thirds. I always want the Indians to win, but I’m not quite sure if a championship this year would be as satisfying.
So what say you? If the Indians or Reds or Buckeyes or whoever wins a championship in a coronavirus shortened season, does it mean as much to you? Why or why not?
