The sports world lost a great one today.  Tom Seaver was a class act, both on and off the field.  

I was not a Mets fan growing up; I rooted for the SF Giants.  But I had only respect for Seaver.  He was the kind of rival you could never dislike. 

He unfortunately was suffering from dementia in recent times.  But, until then, he had a wonderful life.  

The bottom line: he epitomized the best of what you hope to see in sports.  He will be missed.
