I did draft simulations in the offseason and want to do them every 4 games. Ill start with a little review so far, evaluation of the draft class, then the draft sim

Offense-Joe Burrow is the best young QB in the NFL. Mixon and Boyd are leading the skill group and are fantastic. Tee Higgins is very quickly turning into a fantastic receiver despite being so young(21.) Jonah Williams is also showing he can be the franchise LT. Drew Sample is also showing signs he can be a quality starter if not contributer. Outside of that though it has been pretty ugly. The rest of the offensive line is average to terrible depending on the day of the week. AJ Green is also getting paid $20 million and only has 119 yards through 4 games. Green is 32 and has dealt with serious injuries the past couple years, he is dead last in average separation from corners in the NFL. Needs going forward are RT/IOL/WR(outside) and then a receiving tight end as a luxury.
Defense-Pretty disappointing start to the season. Geno Atkins and Mike Daniels(his top backup) being hurt has really hurt the Dline as they have been pretty bad this year. The Dline was ran over by Cleveland and has generated very little pressure. DJ Reader is solid and Sam Hubbard is fine but Carlos Dunlap has been terrible and may need replaced sooner than expected. Carl Lawson has been a nice surprise and is by far the teams best pass rusher. As for 3tech its hard to judge when practice squad players are getting so many snaps. Linebacker has been very positive. Rookies Logan Wilson and Akeem Davis-Gaither have gotten quite a few snaps and have very good pass coverage grades, LB is a hard position for rookies so those two should be very good. Germaine Pratt is also playing well. Those 3 and hopefully Markus Bailey are the future of the unit. Lastly the secondary has been very good. William Jackson has very good PFF grades and Jessie Bates may be the best FS in the NFL. Vonn Bell is elite as a run stopper. Trae Waynes was supposed to be CB1 so its encouraging they are doing fine without him. Whenever Waynes comes back this could be a very good secondary. Needs going forward are DE/CB(?)/DT(?) DT/CB are unknown because of the injuries but its ok to stack talent there.

My Grade: A-. 1-2-1 isnt ideal but they have been the better team in 3 games so far and the losses are because certain positions are so terrible the rest of the team cant overcompensate. Also the 2020 draft class is looking incredible. Burrow, Higgins, Wilson, Davis-Gaither, Khalid Kareem are all exceeding expectations. The second year players are very good too with Jonah Williams, Germaine Pratt, and Drew Sample showing they are legit NFL players.  A hard schedule will limit the wins but next year with a little bit better health and a couple improvements in free agency this could be a playoff team.

Draft Simulation-I have the Bengals picking 7th because they are too good to end up with a top 5 pick. Dreams of Penei Sewell are gone. Needs are RT/IOL/WR/DE and luxury picks could be used for CB/DT/TE(receiving.)
1. Shaun Wade CB OSU-With Sewell, Chase, and Rousseua off the board need did not meet player value. I am not trading in this simulation. No lineman were worth a top 10 pick at this point as no tackles are good enough and Wyatt Davis is elite but a guard isnt worth a top 10 pick. Wade is arguably the best corner in the draft. While he isnt a need he has positional versatility with his experience in the slot the trio of William Jackson/Trae Waynes/Shaun Wade along with Jessie Bates and Vonn Bell could be the best secondary in the NFL.
2.Trey Smith IOL Tennessee-Josh Myers is the dream in the second round but just like this simulation he likely wont make it past the first round. I go with the next best in Trey Smith. He is a massive guard at 6'6" 325 who uses his length and anchor to easily win pass sets and is a dominant run blocker. He missed 2018 due to health issues causing him to start slow in 2019 but he ended the year on a tear. He is a day 1 starter at RG.
3.Sage Surrat WR Wake Forest-Dominant receiver for Wake as he used his 6'2" 215 body along with fantastic route running and physicality to dominate corners. Great hands, smart, leader, and productive. Will likely test a bit below average at the combine causing him to fall. Despite that he may be perfect for Joe Burrow. Regardless of separation Burrow is able to fit the ball into tight windows and Suratt is going to be able to win contested balls. Really good fit for the offense and Suratt would be the replacement for Green.
