The Cleveland Cavaliers have only 6 more games until the end of the regular season, and at 61-15 are looking within the next week to clinch the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers could match or top the best record in team history, which was 66-16 in the LeBron James era. Cleveland is the highest scoring team in the NBA, averaging just over 122 PPG, and have won 40 games by double digits. For the most part, the Cavaliers' Core 4 of Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen have not incurred any major injuries, and their health will be critical to the team's playoff success. The acquisition of DeAndre Hunter from Atlanta has proven to be a big help not only in scoring, but especially so on the defensive end. Hunter will play a key role in the Cavaliers' defending athletic wings in the playoffs. The bench play has played a big part in the team's winning surge, with Hunter, Ty Jerome, Isaac Okoro, Sam Merrill, and Dean Wade all giving Coach Kenny Atkinson good minutes. Max Strus has been a solid contributor since he joined the team from Miami.

All things considered, these Cavaliers have shown that they can play with the top teams in the Association, including going 2-2 vs. Boston and 1-1 vs. OKC. Perhaps the most important factor in a long playoff run for the Cavaliers is their own belief in how good they are. They have the physical ability to make a long playoff run. Although they aren't the favorite to win the NBA title, they can't be counted out entirely either.
