I think we all agree duplicate forum threads are annoying.

It's more annoying to have a duplicate thread bumped repeatedly by people complaining about duplicate posts. Anyone who is paying attention knows it's a duplicate. It doesn't need to be stated. Just let the thread go by and vanish into the abyss.

Also annoying: people who post threads that are months old with 50+ posts and complain that a new thread is a duplicate. Or people who complain about a duplicate thread when in reality the posts are loosely related.

Regardless of whether a post is a duplicate, close to a duplicate, or not a duplicate, I'm pretty sure people would rather read about the actual content than a bunch of complaints that are unrelated to sports at all.

People posting duplicates will be handled by the people who have power to handle it. Can others quit running around like duplicate post police?
