Ohio State excellence is not exclusive to the football field or the basketball court. Around the Oval is our way of keeping you informed of the amazing things happening with the other 34 varsity sports on campus.

Wisconsin moved on to take on No. 6 Stanford but lost in five sets, just the team's fifth loss of the season. The final four teams remaining are No. 1 Nebraska, No. 4 Texas, No. 2 Minnesota, and Stanford. The rest of the tournament will be played out right here in Columbus, Ohio at Nationwide Arena. I wouldn't mind seeing a B1G matchup in the championship game.

"Well I think the most important thing for our team tonight was to continue to find value in scoring points," head coach Tom Ryan said of the home win. "I think what we're seeing with this team is a good combination of leadership and some of the younger guys. Overall, it was a good performance from us."

The Ohio State women's hockey team host the No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers in a two-game series this weekend. The Buckeyes were shutout 7-0 in the first game and 5-0 in the second. The team, 8-10-2 will now go on break until January 6 when they travel to State College, Pennsylvania to take on the Nittany Lions.
