After defeating Vanderbilt 4-0 in the second round, the Ohio State men's tennis team has advanced to the NCAA Regionals.
The Buckeyes (31-2) got off to a fast start thanks to a win from John McNally and Hunter Tubert in doubles play, followed by a clinching 6-3 victory from Alex Kobelt and Kyle Seelig.
Ohio State was just as dominant in singles play. Despite a rainstorm forcing the action inside, the Buckeyes gained complete control of all but one of the six matches. JJ Wolf registered a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Vanderbilt's Cameron Klinger, and later Tubert sealed the deal for the Buckeyes with a 6-3, 6-2 win.
The top-ranked and seeded Buckeyes move on to face the winner of the Penn State vs. Columbia matchup. If the Nittany Lions advance, the Buckeyes will try and recreate the success they had in State College on March 1, when they registered a 4-1 win over Penn State.
