Ohio State has its ducks in a row for the early signing period in its 2017 recruiting class. With Hargrave Military Academy point guard Braxton Beverly signing with Ohio State on Wednesday, Westerville South center Kaleb Wesson is slated to sign next week.
While Ohio State has yet to announce Beverly's signing, we are expecting Thad Matta and his program to officially welcome the two new recruits once Wesson joins Beverly on the dotted line. What should Buckeye hoops fans expect from the class of 2017? We take a look below.
Braxton Beverly
Height: 6'0

LOI Date: 11/9/2016

Where does Beverly fit in with Ohio State: Beverly fills an immediate need for backcourt depth for Ohio State. The 6-foot guard is a terrific shooter, ball-handler and distributor that can operate as either a pass-first or shoot-first guard. With Ohio State, we see Beverly coming off the bench and providing an outside shooting presence at the lead guard position that the Buckeyes haven't had for awhile.

Kaleb Wesson
Height: 6'10
Weight: 285 pounds
Position: Center
School: Westerville South (OH)
LOI Date: 11/16/16 (expected)
Ranking: 78th overall, 7th at position (247 Sports)
Where does Wesson fit in with Ohio State: Wesson comes in as another talented front court piece for Ohio State. While the Buckeyes already have some existing depth at center, Wesson provides a skill set that is a little bit different from what Ohio State has already. Wesson's post skill and touch is the best for any front court player to come out of Columbus since Jared Sullinger, while he has an underrated ability to step out and knock down perimeter jump shots. Wesson's biggest weakness has been his athleticism, which the senior has addressed this offseason, losing more than 30 pounds and becoming more explosive. The more athletic and explosive Wesson becomes, the better he will be for Ohio State, who hasn't had a player as skilled as him on the block in recent years.
