A little over 17 months removed from the end of his tenure as Ohio State's basketball coach, Thad Matta was back at the Schottenstein Center on Wednesday night for a halftime ceremony in his honor during the Buckeyes' Big Ten/ACC Challenge game against Syracuse.
After a banner recognizing his accomplishments was hung from the rafters, Matta became emotional as he addressed the crowd at Value City Arena.

Matta also met with reporters after Wednesday's halftime ceremony, and talked about how special a moment it was for him, which you can watch in the video below.
Ohio State lost Wednesday night's game, 72-62.
