For the third year in a row, Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann gave out free Cane's Chicken to members of the student body.
Hey students! Lunch on me today @Raising_Canes on campus between 11:45 - 12:30. Dont skip class!

Since becoming the head coach of the Buckeyes three years ago, Holtmann has begun and continued a massive integration effort with the goal of getting the Ohio State students more involved in the program.

"Students are obviously really important for us," Holtmann said. "We love their energy, there’s no question about that. We’ve had incredible student sections. We want to continue to build that. They’re really important for what we’re doing and seeing our guys play. And we tip off in 22 days so hopefully we see them out there.”
Holtmann has been extremely big on student involvement in his three years in Columbus. In addition to the Cane's lunches, he has also instituted open practices for students to watch in each of the past two years, and says that those will occur again prior to this season.
In return, though, Holtmann has some expectations from the fans.
"I think just tremendous energy and support," he said. "We’ve got great kids, terrific student athletes, really good players. We just want [the fans] support and encouragement. We’re a really young group. Everybody knows that. But, we have some really exciting players returning and some young new faces. Just embrace our team through the ups and downs and we’ll do our best to represent Ohio State well.”
