OKUDAH FAMILY EMERGENCY WILL CANCEL HIS OHIO STATE TRIP
One of the Michigan State game's key visitors, Jeffrey Okudah, will unfortunately have to cancel his planned trip to Columbus this weekend.
"I'm pretty bummed out I can't make it," Okudah told Eleven Warriors. "We had a passing in the family."
Okudah, the country's 10th-ranked 2017 prospect, had plane tickets purchased and was 100 percent coming to Columbus as of four days ago.
"I talk to Chris Ash every day," Okudah shared with 11W Sunday. "Things are going great and I'm still excited for this trip."
When Okudah can make his next visit to Columbus is now up in the air. He's been publicly listing the Buckeyes as the leader in his recruitment for months.
KENTUCKY'S INSANE RECRUITING COULD HELP BUCKEYES
Basketball recruiting is a funny thing, and by funny, I mean terrifying and ridiculous and in most cases, especially when it involves the blue blood programs, insane.
Let's look at Kentucky's 2016 recruiting class, which has–in the last week–added three pretty OK high schoolers.
:somekindofshockedfaceemoji:
Not surprisingly, that's the country's top-ranked class and could be the best of all-time.
I said this yesterday, but this is now the most athletic recruiting class that John Calipari has signed at Kentucky.

That leads us to Kobi Simmons, who, like everyone else Kentucky has recruited, is a five-star prospect. Unlike everyone else that Kentucky has recruited, the Wildcats don't seem to have made room Simmons at this point. Originally expected to make a commitment this fall, Simmons is now planning on waiting to the spring and there may not be a chance for him to show up in Lexington. Unless he wanted to walk on, which heck, maybe Calipari can talk him in to that?
The Buckeyes, especially with the uncertainty around Mickey Mitchell's situation, appear that they'll have room for Simmons. Is he going to wait until the spring still to see if Duke, Arizona or another of the "big boys" finds a spot or will the Buckeyes–or UNLV–land the cream of their respective classes before that?
"Kentucky basketball, turning down five-star recruits since 2011."
BURTON VISIT STILL ON
While one highly-ranked 2017 safety won't make it; Brandon Burton, a 2016 four-star from Gardena, California, will.

The country's sixth-ranked safety was originally slated to make his official visit in September for the Hawai'i game, but will instead do that this weekend.
Burton has been recruited by the Buckeyes for a while, although it's hard to say exactly how much interest he actually has in the program. UCLA and Southern Cal remain the two schools most people expect to land him, but he's made official trips to Oklahoma, Florida State and Notre Dame already, so he's willing to consider schools outside of Southern California, which is sometimes half the battle.
An all-star game or signing day decision is expected.
HELP JACK WOHLABAUGH GET TO THE UNDER-ARMOUR ALL-AMERICAN GAME
Want to help a future Slob play one more high school football game?
Ohio State commitment Jack Wohlabaugh, the country's 17th-ranked offensive guard in the 2016 class, is one of the few remaining prospects who can land in the Under-Armour All-American game and your vote can help send him there.
Currently, Wohlabaugh is losing pretty handily and voting closes early next week, so if you've got the time and an Internet connection, head over and give him a vote.
