TOUGH PILL TO SWALLOW
Ohio State five-star wide receiver commit Trevon Grimes announced on Twitter that he will miss the rest of his senior season after tearing his ACL in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas' 25-24 triple overtime loss to Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop Gorman on Friday night.

Grimes was injured in the fourth quarter on a pass to the end zone, which was picked off by Ohio State target Bubba Bolden. He was taken to the hospital with an air cast on his left leg, but the extent of the injury was unknown until late Sunday night.
“I was coming back for the ball. It was kind of underthrown, so I cut back to slap it down because I knew it was going to get intercepted,” Grimes told Landof10. “I planted and my knee just buckled. I felt it pop out of place and it just shot into pain. I started screaming and calling for the trainers. I knew something was wrong with it, but I don't know how to explain it. It just locked up. The MCL, everything around it is find. It's just the ACL.”

This is the second-consecutive year that an Ohio State-bound player from St. Thomas Aquinas has torn his ACL, as defensive end Nick Bosa suffered the season-ending injury last November.
“I was on the phone with Ohio State for about 30 minutes,” Grimes said. “They're fine, just wishing me prayers. Nothing has changed with them or my commitment.”
The 16th-best player in the Class of 2017, Grimes committed to Ohio State in August.
“I'm getting surgery done within the next week or two,” he said. “From what the plan is, I will be [recovered] before I get to Ohio State.”
WAR EAGLE
Kennesaw, Georgia, three-star outside linebacker Chandler Wooten announced on Twitter Sunday night that he has received a scholarship offer from Ohio State.

“It means a lot,” Wooten told Eleven Warriors. “It's one of the premier programs in the country with elite coaches and players.”
The 6-foot-3, 227-pound junior committed to Auburn in May despite offers from Clemson, Florida, Georgia Tech, Miami, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Tennessee, among others. Wooten plans on taking a visit to Ohio State this fall, but admitted it would be a long shot for the Buckeyes to steal him away from the Tigers.
“It'd take a lot to be honest,” he said. “I love Auburn and where they are headed.”
WAYNE PIPELINE?
Huber Heights Wayne defensive end Alex Reigelsperger was in attendance for Saturday's game against Rutgers. Though he didn't leave Columbus with an offer in hand, the 17th-best prospect in the state for the Class of 2018 enjoyed himself nonetheless.
“I love it there, and I got to see my man Robert [Landers],” Reigelsperger told Eleven Warriors. “The atmosphere [is the best part]. Ohio State has a certain atmosphere that most Big Ten schools don't have.”
The 6-foot-2, 235-pounder said he had a lengthy conversation with defensive line coach Larry Johnson after the game.
“[He] just says we'll talk about [an offer] after they finish the season,” Reigelsperger said.
Reigelsperger currently holds offers from Iowa, Kentucky, Miami (Ohio), Pittsburgh, Purdue, Rutgers and Western Michigan, but programs like Florida State are starting to take notice.
“Florida State really likes me, too. I'm trying super hard to go,” he said. “I think I'm playing real good, especially for having a cast on [for a broken finger]. I think once I get my hands and hips together, I'll get a lot more attention.”
INTERSTATE 70 INTERCHANGE
Several other targets from Southwestern Ohio were on campus for this past weekend's game, including Springfield's Leonard Taylor, Moses Douglass and Cameron Hoelscher.
“I enjoyed it very much. I had fun with friends and family,” Douglass told Eleven Warriors.
“I loved it. Being on the sideline pregame [was my favorite part],” Hoelscher added.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Douglass is the son of former Chicago Bears and New York Giants safety Maurice Douglass. The junior cornerback is not yet ranked by any major recruiting sites, but currently holds 10 offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Purdue, Rutgers and Syracuse.
Hoelscher, meanwhile, is considered the 22nd-best player in the state for the Class of 2018. He only has an offer from Kentucky, but schools like Cincinnati, Indiana, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State and Purdue have all shown interest in the linebacker.
