Las Vegas, Nevada, Bishop Gorman is on track to capture its eighth-consecutive state title and third-straight mythical high school national championship. But the Gaels will look to do so without starting wide receiver and Ohio State commit Tyjon Lindsey, who tweeted late Thursday night that his high school career has come to a close because of a torn meniscus in his right knee.
Just like that my season is over... It's been a loooooong journey of 4 years playing varsity football, but it has been cut short for me.

“I got the news today [Thursday],” Lindsey told MyLVSports.com. “If I played [the season] out, I might hurt it even more and I might actually tear a ligament. I don’t want to risk anything right now so my decision is to try and get the surgery as soon as possible."
Lindsey broke his collarbone in a preseason scrimmage and missed the first four games of the season — all wins over nationally ranked out-of-state opponents — but returned to catch a pair of touchdowns passes in his season debut. The 5-foot-9, 161-pounder had only three receptions for 55 yards in the three games since.
Lindsey is not the first Ohio State wide receiver commit to suffer a season-ending injury this year, as fellow wide receiver Trevon Grimes tore his ACL in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, St. Thomas Aquinas' loss to Bishop Gorman last month.
He accepted an invitation to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 7, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas, but doesn't expect to play while rehabbing the injury.
