Top Underclassmen Descend Upon Columbus for Ohio State's Junior Day

Though Ohio State is still putting the finishing touches on the Class of 2017, the staff will host several of the country's top underclassmen for its annual Junior Day on Saturday. 

Recruits from all over the country will meet with coaches, tour campus and the program's facilities, try on the latest team gear and take pictures with the national championship trophy, among other things.

The list below is subject to change, as some prospects told Eleven Warriors they were hoping to book a last-minute flight to Columbus. But this is the most up-to-date list of those expected to be in attendance:

CLASS OF 2018
  • Bellflower, California, St. John Bosco four-star safety Jaiden Woodbey
    The No. 32 prospect overall, Woodbey recently included Ohio State in his Final 4 alongside Nebraska, Oklahoma and USC. This marks the first trip to campus for 6-foot-2, 205-pounder, who is the high school teammate of five-star offensive guard commit Wyatt Davis.
     
  • Westerville South four-star running back Jaelen Gill
    The No. 31 prospect overall, Gill is arguably the staff's top priority in the class. The 6-foot-1, 182-pounder holds more than two dozen offers from programs such as Arizona State, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee, UCLA, USC and Virginia Tech.
     
  • Hightstown, New Jersey, The Peddie School four-star wide receiver Jahan Dotson
    The No. 59 prospect overall, 6-foot, 160-pound Dotson holds more than two dozen offers from programs such as Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He was last on campus for the Nov. 26 win over Michigan.
     
  • Lindenhurst, New York, Senior four-star tight end Jeremy Ruckert
    The No. 77 prospect overall, 6-foot-6, 230-pound Ruckert included Ohio State in his Top 5 on New Year's Eve alongside Alabama, Florida State, Michigan and Wisconsin. He was last on campus for the Nov. 26 win over Michigan
     
  • Tulsa, Oklahoma, Union four-star wide receiver C.J. Moore
    The No. 111 prospect overall, Moore holds more than a dozen offers from programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas A&M. This marks the first trip to campus for the 6-foot-5, 175-pounder.
     
  • Springfield four-star tight end Leonard Taylor
    The No. 147 prospect overall, Taylor holds 15 offers from programs such as Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee. The former Michigan commit was a regular visitor this past season.
     
  • Pickerington Central four-star tight end Trenton Gillison
    The No. 218 prospect overall, Gillison holds 15 offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Tennessee and Wisconsin. Ohio State has not yet offered the 6-foot-5, 220-pounder.
     
  • Indianapolis, Indiana, Lawrence Central three-star outside linebacker Cameron McGrone
    The No. 348 prospect overall, McGrone holds double-digit offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Nebraska, Northwestern, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. Ohio State has not yet offered 6-foot-1, 215-pounder.
     
  • Indianapolis, Indiana, North Central three-star cornerback Donald "D.J." Johnson
    The No. 499 prospect overall, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Johnson holds offers from Ball State and Bowling Green. He was last on campus for the Oct. 29 win over Northwestern.
     
  • Fort Lauderdale, Florida, American Heritage three-star athlete Miles Jones
    The No. 627 prospect overall, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound Jones holds offers from Georgia, Mississippi State, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, West Virginia and Wisconsin. He is in the midst of a three-school road trip, with Ohio State sandwiched between Notre Dame and TCU.
     
  • St. Francis De Sales outside linebacker Brian Asamoah
    The 6-foot, 205-pound Asamoah is not ranked by any recruiting sites, but holds early a dozen offers from programs such as Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Michigan, Penn State, Pittsburgh and UCLA. He made his first trip to Ohio State for a bowl practice last month.
     
  • Dublin Jerome outside linebacker Cade Kacherski

  • North Stafford, Virginia, four-star running back Devyn Ford
    The No. 12 prospect overall, the 5-foot-11, 170-pound Ford holds nearly two dozen offers from programs such as Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He was last on campus for the Nov. 26 win over Michigan.
     
  • Cincinnati Walnut Hills defense tackle Jowon Briggs
    The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Briggs is the lone in-state sophomore with an offer from Ohio State. This will mark his first campus visit.
     
  • Lewis Center Olentangy Orange defensive end Zach Harrison
    The 6-foot-5, 225-pound Harrison holds offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, Toledo and Wisconsin. This will be his first unofficial visit.
     
  • Springfield defensive tackle Isaiah Gibson
    The 6-foot-2, 263-pound Gibson holds offers from Bowling Green, Kentucky and Rutgers. He was last on campus for the Nov. 5 win over Nebraska.
     
  • Springfield cornerback Moses Douglass
    The 6-foot-2, 186-pound Douglass, son of a former NFL safety Mo Douglass, holds more than a dozen offers from programs such as Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Purdue and Syracuse. He made two trips to campus last season.
     
  • Lexington outside linebacker Cade Stover
    The 6-foot-4, 206-pound Stover holds an offer from Kentucky. He'll be making his first trip to campus following an in-school visit from Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.
     
  • Minneapolis, Minnesota, Edina Senior offensive tackle Quinn Carroll
    The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Carroll holds more than a dozen offers from programs such as Arkansas, Iowa, LSU, Michigan, Minnesota, Tennessee, UCLA and Wisconsin. His father, Jay, played tight end for the Golden Gophers and caught three touchdown passes in a win over the Buckeyes in 1981.
     
  • Mentor defensive end Noah Potter
    The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Potter holds offers from Bowling Green and Toledo. He is the brother of basketball Buckeye Micah Potter.
