One of the fastest-rising 2024 tight ends in Ohio, Tayvion Galloway, took his second visit to Ohio State on Tuesday.

While on the visit, his first since attending the Akron game last September, the 6-foot-6, 215-pound Galloway watched practice, sat in on Ohio State’s tight end meeting, toured Ohio State’s facilities and had one-on-one meetings with Ryan Day, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Kevin Wilson and running backs coach Tony Alford, all separately, before finishing his day with a photoshoot.

In the weeks leading up to the visit, Wilson told Galloway getting him in front of Day would be of utmost importance if he wanted to receive an OSU offer.

“It was great to finally meet him and begin building our connection and relationship,” Galloway told Eleven Warriors of his meeting with Day. “He told me obviously I am a talented player and that’s why I was there, but Ohio State football is much deeper than talent, and he wants to make sure I am a great person.”

While he did not receive an offer on Tuesday, Wilson told Galloway an offer could come sooner rather than later, and that Day wants to get to know him as a person before he pulls the trigger. Galloway said his meeting with Alford also went well.

“My favorite part was probably my sit-down talk with coach Alford,” Galloway said. “Really showed he was interested in who I am as a person and not just the athlete I am.”

Galloway has a busy spring visit schedule lined up, as he also has visits planned to Pittsburgh on April 2, Kentucky on April 5, Rutgers on April 16 and Georgia Tech on April 20. The only summer visit he has lined up so far is Alabama on June 15.

Galloway is in no rush to make a college decision and will let the recruiting process play out more as he’s still just a sophomore at Chillicothe High School.

Carr picks up OSU offer

Ohio State extended its sixth offer to a wide receiver prospect in the 2024 class on Wednesday. 6-foot, 170-pound Georgia product Ny Carr announced the offer from his Twitter account.

To this point, Carr has 12 Division I scholarship opportunities, an offer sheet that includes Arkansas, Georgia, Iowa State, Michigan, Penn State, Tennessee and USC. He does not yet hold a 247Sports ranking.

In 10 games for Colquitt County High School (Moultrie, Georgia) last season, Carr racked up 856 receiving yards on 40 receptions while hauling in 13 touchdown passes. He put up a staggering 21.4 yards per reception.

Russaw picks up OSU offer

Ohio State offered a premier defensive end in the 2023 class on Thursday, offering four-star Alabama edge rusher Jaquavious Russaw

Russaw is ranked as the 39th-best prospect and the fourth-rated edge rusher in the 2023 class. He has currently totaled 25 Division I offers, a list that includes Alabama, Auburn, USC, Tennessee, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Miami, Michigan State, Ole Miss and Texas A&M.

Flores Jr., Lyons and Aguero lock in visits

One of Ohio State’s top 2023 targets at wide receiver has set an unofficial visit. Four-star California wideout Rico Flores Jr. announced he will visit Ohio State April 7-9.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Flores is considered the 179th-best player and the 26th-best wideout in the 2023 class. He recently released a top five consisting of Ohio State, UCLA, Notre Dame, Texas and Georgia.

Flores Jr. was offered by the Buckeyes on Nov. 30 and told Eleven Warriors in February he talks to OSU wide receivers coach Brian Hartline around three times a week.

“They produce receivers,” Flores Jr. said then of Ohio State. “I just see what Hartline does with receivers and how much success they have. And then on top of that, the relationships I’m building with them are great. Everybody is texting me from coach Ryan Day to coach Hartline, just everybody across the offensive side. I feel that plays a big part.”

This visit will be key for Flores Jr., who plans on making a commitment before the summer concludes.

Flores Jr.’s high school teammate, four-star tight end Walker Lyons, will also be visiting OSU in April, though he did not specify whether the visit will be alongside Flores.

Lyons, a 6-foot-4, 230-pound prospect, put OSU in his top six along with Stanford, Utah, BYU, Alabama and USC in February. He is ranked as the 72nd-best prospect and the fourth-best tight end in the 2023 cycle.

One of Ohio State’s top safety targets, four-star Massachusetts product Joenel Aguero, announced he’ll be visiting Ohio State this weekend.

The 6-foot, 195-pound Aguero is ranked as the 49th-best player and the second-best safety in the 2023 cycle. Along with Aguero, other top targets to join four-star commit Cedrick Hawkins at safety in Ohio State’s 2023 class include Caleb Downs, Malik Hartford and Daemon Fagan.

Markway commits to LSU

Another tight end option for Ohio State is off the board.

After previously scheduling an OSU visit for March 26 in early February, four-star Missouri tight end Mac Markway committed to LSU two days before he was scheduled to arrive in Columbus.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound prospect is considered the 100th-best prospect and the seventh-best tight end in the 2023 class. OSU is still searching for another tight end in the 2023 cycle to pair with four-star OSU commit Ty Lockwood.
