When Ohio State offered Bralan Womack following its first recruiting camp on June 5, the 2026 safety couldn’t stop smiling.

“It was a dream come true,” the five-star safety told Eleven Warriors. “It’s a dream offer and a dream school. I was very proud to get the offer. It just was an emotional moment. I’ve watched tons of games. All their College Football Playoff games since like 2017. I could tell you about a lot of it.”

Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, Womack is considered the No. 21 overall prospect and the No. 3 safety in the 2026 class. What made his day more special was getting an offer from Ryan Day himself.

“He just said he loved my body type, I can do what a lot of other players can’t,” Womack said. “I can help the program get over the hump. They’ve dealt with losing one game the past couple of years that keeps them away from the playoffs and the national championship.”

Throughout the camp, Womack worked extensively with Tim Walton and Matt Guerrieri. He said he appreciated how detailed their workouts were before competition drills even began.

“It was great, I loved it,” Womack said of his time learning from OSU’s two secondary coaches. “I don’t know that I’d say it was an intense workout, but we competed in individuals before we did one-on-ones. Not many colleges do that. We were having fun the whole day, but we were competing. That was the main two things about my day.”

Before he arrived on campus, Womack said he and Walton had communicated occasionally for a few months. Now that coaches can contact 2026 recruits directly coupled with his newfound OSU offer, the communication should increase rapidly from here.

“Ever since I got the opportunity to camp from coach Walton and coach Guerrieri, I told them I’d be there the first day,” Womack said. “I showed up. I think that’s what impressed them the most, I actually showed up. Not many people from Mississippi come up here.”

Following his offer, Womack made no qualms about where OSU stands in his recruitment.

“They sit at the top,” Womack said. “They’re right up there.”

Womack says he’ll likely narrow his recruitment down after the completion of his junior season and plans on committing sometime next summer. As of now, Notre Dame and Ohio State could be the frontrunners to land him.

“The way they develop and produce players to help them get to the NFL,” Womack said about what he likes the most about Ohio State. “But not only produce players, they keep them in the NFL. Marshon Lattimore, Denzel Ward, Jeff Okudah, Eli Apple, Malcolm Jenkins. Those are all guys playing like six-plus years, more than the average NFL career.”

Womack says he’ll return to Columbus in November for the Buckeyes’ game against Michigan.

In his sophomore season at Hartfield Academy, Womack recorded 26 tackles, two tackles for loss, a fumble recovery returned 52 yards and a whopping seven interceptions.

“My IQ and like Matt Guerrieri says, the fact that I can move so great when I’m 200 pounds and that I run around a 4.4 or 4.5 (40-yard dash),” Womack said of what makes him a standout player. “That’s what stood out to him. And that I can pick up coaching one day and put it to use the next day.”
