One of Ohio State’s top safety targets in the 2026 class has scheduled multiple visits to Ohio State.
Four-star Florida standout Simeon Caldwell announced he’ll take two trips to Columbus this spring and also return to OSU in June for an official visit. Caldwell will be at Ohio State March 29, April 12 and June 20 for his official visit. He’ll also visit Georgia, Michigan and USC this spring and has official visits locked in with Miami, USC and Notre Dame this summer.

The 6-foot-3, 185-pound safety is the nephew of co-defensive coordinator Tim Walton.
“Me and him have a great bond,” Caldwell said of Walton in June. “And he's a great coach, one of the best coaches in the country. He coached in the league. So it's just a great opportunity. I'll know that he'll be able to coach me to the best of my ability. I know he has my best interests at heart, so it would be a great opportunity to play for him.”
Caldwell is considered the No. 95 prospect in the nation per 247Sports’ composite rankings and was offered by the Buckeyes in January of 2024. He’s visited OSU several times throughout his recruitment, including in the fall for a gameday trip. Caldwell is the high school teammate of Ohio State 2026 tight end commit Corbyn Fordham.

Ohio State has entered the recruitment of one of the top cornerbacks in the 2027 class. Walton extended an offer to four-star California prospect Aaryn Washington on Wednesday, making him the fifth cornerback the Buckeyes have offered in his cycle.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Washington is considered the No. 49 prospect and the No. 5 cornerback in the 2027 class. He’s picked up 18 Division I offers, including Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Cal, Cincinnati, LSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC and Washington.
Washington plays at California powerhouse Mater Dei and recorded 20 tackles, three interceptions, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery in 11 games as a sophomore.
Adam Guthrie commits to Clemson
An in-state Ohio State offensive line target for the 2026 class is off the board. Four-star Ohio prospect Adam Guthrie committed to Clemson on Friday, a move not all that surprising considering the way his recruitment had been trending the past few months.

Thanks mom, dad, and my big brother for everything you have done for me to be in this position. Thank you to the MT community and my coaches. Big thanks to @DJRSwework for not just helping with recruiting but also helping develop to be a great OL.

New offensive line coach Tyler Bowen was working from behind with this recruitment upon his hiring, considering he didn’t have much of a relationship with Guthrie at Virginia Tech. Guthrie will now play his collegiate ball in Death Valley, barring any last-minute change of heart.
Despite the miss, Bowen has still been building strong relationships on the recruiting trail since his hiring and is hoping to prove his recruiting chops this spring and summer. Another top Ohio offensive tackle, four-star prospect Maxwell Riley, is also currently forecasted to join Guthrie at Clemson next year by various analysts. Bowen will have an opportunity to change that when Riley visits OSU later this spring.
Richard Wesley reclassifies to 2026
A five-star prospect Ohio State offered this week is reclassifying to the 2026 class.
Five-star Richard Wesley announced he’ll reclassify from 2027 to 2026 on Friday, four days after he received an Ohio State offer from Larry Johnson. Wesley now slots in as the No. 10 prospect and No. 2 defensive end in the 2026 cycle. He’s earned 24 Division I offers thus far.
