Buffalo Bills 2016 fourth-round pick Cardale Jones made his professional debut Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts.

Likely not wanting to be outdone by his father, Tyvis Powell, who starred on defense and special teams for the Seattle Seahawks earlier in the day, Jones came within a hair's breadth of sending his team into overtime.

His team trailing by eight with a little over a minute remaining in the game, Jones took to the field and promptly led his team to a touchdown, which can be seen in the video above.

Before Jarrett Boykin made a one-handed, four-yard touchdown reception as time expired, Jones also showed why NFL teams valued him: His howitzer of a right arm.

Unfortunately, the ensuing two-point conversion failed and the Colts escaped with the victory. Still, Jones finished the night 11-21 on passing attempts, 161 yards, and a touchdown.

Bills coach Rex Ryan seemed more than pleased with the results after the game.

“We’ve seen it every day on the practice field,” Ryan said, according The Buffalo News. “So I think there wasn't anybody in that locker room that thought he wasn't going to do it – I can promise you that. Almost immediately, we saw a guy that has poise.

“The one thing you don't see is the work ethic he has, and he's a sharp young man. Is he improving faster than we thought? Maybe so.”
