Redshirt junior receiver Johnnie Dixon came to Ohio State as a blue chip recruit from South Florida in 2014. Tendinitis in his knees robbed him of much of his first three seasons in Columbus.
This spring, Dixon competed in every spring practice for the first time in his career. It culminated with six receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the annual spring game.
Sunday, wide receivers coach Zach Smith called Dixon's mother to inform her that her son will start against Indiana on Aug. 31. The video of which can be seen above.
Though the exact rotation remains to be seen, Dixon would start alongside Austin Mack, whose mother received a similar call late last week.
