The Buckeyes used a balanced attack to take down the Black Knights of Army by a score of 38-7. The option attack gave the defense some struggles at times, most notably when Army drove 99 yards down the field for a first-half touchdown. The Silver Bullets would eventually clamp down and pitch a shutout in the second half.
J.T. Barrett and J.K. Dobbins led the Ohio State offense. Barrett totaled 302 yards of offense and found the end zone three times, surpassing Drew Brees' conference record for total touchdowns. Dobbins had 13 carries for 172 yards and score a pair of touchdowns, including an impressive 52-yarder.
Following the game, the Buckeyes and Black Knights came together to sing Carmen Ohio.
