The Big Ten started handing out end-of-season awards Tuesday. Five Buckeyes appeared on All-Conference defensive teams, while three were honored for special teams play.
While Tracy Sprinkle didn't make the cut for All-Big Ten defensive honors, the conference honored him nonetheless by naming him a 2017 Sportsmanship Honoree.
Per the conference, the award is given to athletes that:
The Big Ten also recognized 14 Sportsmanship Award honorees. The students chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These students must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
