Dwayne Haskins has been benched.
Four games into the season, the first-round pick out of Ohio State has been relieved of his starting duties as Washington will start Kyle Allen on Sunday.
Not only has Haskins been benched, he has been demoted to third on Washington's depth chart, also behind veteran Alex Smith, who will serve as Allen's backup on Sunday.
Last week, Washington coach Ron Rivera said he would be sticking with Haskins and that the second-year quarterback did not need to look over his shoulder.
"I just got done talking to Dwayne and told him, 'I'm behind you. I'm going to stick with you, so you go out and play,'" Rivera said last week.
It seems that will not be the case, even after Haskins threw for a career-high 314 yards on Sunday.
After four starts this season, Haskins has a 1-3 record and ranks last in the NFL in total QBR at 30.6, 27th in completion percentage (61.0) and 26th in yards per pass attempt (6.43).
Washington selected Haskins with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft and has started 11 games with the team, taking over the starting role midway through last season before suffering a season-ending injury.
In two seasons, Haskins has a 3-8 record with a 59.6 completion percentage for 2,304 yards along with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
