Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade are one step closer to consensus All-American status.

Both Davis and Wade picked up their second major All-American honor on Tuesday when the pair were named first-team All-Americans by Sporting News.

With the honor, they are both just one first-team All-American nod away from earning the consensus All-American label as Davis and Wade were each named first-team All-Americans by the Associated Press on Monday.

The pair were also joined in the honor by Haskell Garrett and Josh Myers, who each earned second-team All-American honors from Sporting News.

Davis continues to collect postseason accolades as he was already named the Big Ten's Offensive Lineman of the Year, first-team All-Big Ten, and first-team All-American by the Associated Press. As a team captain and veteran presence at right guard, he has helped lead an offense that currently leads all Power Five teams with 275.7 rushing yards per game and ranks No. 3 in the nation with 6.1 yards per carry.

Wade has also had a decorated season, earning first-team All-Big Ten honors, the Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year award, and a first-team All-American honor from the associated press. Moving to the outside cornerback position for the first time this season after playing safety and in the slot the rest of his career, Wade has 15 total tackles, three passes defended and two interceptions, including a pivotal pick-six during Ohio State's 42-35 win over Indiana.

This is Garrett's second second-team honor of the season after he was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press on Monday. He earns this honor despite being named just third-team All-Big Ten by the coaches and not even making the media's all-conference game.

Myers, like Davis, has been a veteran presence on the Ohio State offensive line this season, helping lead the dominant Buckeye rushing attack and protect quarterback Justin Fields.

Sporting News is one of five All-American lists that are used to determine consensus and unanimous All-Americans, joining the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), the Associated Press (AP) and the Walter Camp Football Foundation (WCFF).

Of the five lists, the Associated Press and Sporting News were the first to be released.
