It was an Ohio State season filled with ups and downs.
From an early misstep against Oregon to an impressive winning streak that included a drubbing of Michigan State, to a bitter heartbreaking loss to Michigan to ending the year on a positive note with a Rose Bowl win against Utah, the 2021 campaign was filled with plenty of storylines for the Buckeyes.
C.J. Stroud had a breakout season and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy race, Jaxon Smith-Njigba had a crazy run at the end of season that saw him shatter record after record, Chris Olave finished his Ohio State career as the school's leader in career receiving touchdowns, TreVeyon Henderson had a standout freshman campaign and the defense underwent changes all year that eventually led to a coaching staff overhaul for the 2022 season.
In all, the Buckeyes finished the season 11-2 but missed out on the College Football Playoff. For most, next year's season opener against Notre Dame on Sept. 3 can't come soon enough, even though we'll have a bit of a wait.
