Three of Ohio State’s seven participants in the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine met with the media on Wednesday morning.
Ohio State’s two projected first-round wide receivers, Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson, each fielded a variety of questions from media in Indianapolis on Wednesday morning, as did Jeremy Ruckert, one day before wide receivers and tight ends are scheduled to work out at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Wilson and Olave both answered several questions about how Ohio State and specifically wide receivers coach Brian Hartline helped them become potential first-round picks, with Olave calling Hartline “the best receiver coach in the country.” They also both talked about what it would mean to them to become Ohio State’s first Round 1 wide receivers since 2007, when Ted Ginn Jr. and Anthony Gonzalez were both first-round picks.
“That would be awesome,” Wilson said. “My mission is to prove myself once I get there, but it definitely would be a blessing to go first round.”
Ruckert will not be participating in any on-field drills until Ohio State’s pro day after suffering plantar fasciitis in his foot at the Senior Bowl, but he still did a full media session on Wednesday morning, in which he also reflected back on his Ohio State career and talked about who he expects to step up in the Buckeyes’ tight end room in 2022, including Mitch Rossi, Joe Royer and Gee Scott Jr.
You can listen to what all three of them had to say in the videos above and below.
