A quartet of Buckeyes have been named All-Americans by the Walter Camp Football Foundation.

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. were named first-team All-Americans and quarterback C.J. Stroud and linebacker Tommy Eichenberg earned second-team honors from Walter Camp, the first of five All-American teams that will be used to determine this year’s consensus All-Americans.

Ohio State’s four total Walter Camp All-Americans are the most of any school.

Harrison, who has also been named a first-team All-American by Pro Football Focus, CBS SportsThe Athletic and Bleacher Report, earns his tree in Buckeye Grove amid a spectacular sophomore season in which he has caught 72 passes for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns. With at least one game still to play this year, all of those numbers rank within the top six for a single season in Ohio State history – and the numbers alone don’t fully illustrate how great Harrison has been, as he’s routinely made spectacular catches throughout the year.

Johnson, who also earned first-team All-American honors from The Athletic and Bleacher Report, established himself as one of college football’s best left tackles as he allowed only one sack during the 2022 season, per PFF.

Stroud, who has received multiple second-team honors but has not yet received a first-team All-American recognition from any major organization or publication, makes the Walter Camp Football Foundation’s second team after accumulating the FBS’ best passer rating during the regular season (176.25) by completing 66.2 percent of his passing attempts for 3,340 yards and 37 touchdowns with six interceptions.

Eichenberg, who received first-team honors from PFF and B/R, makes the Walter Camp second team after emerging as the star of Ohio State’s defense during the 2022 regular season, recording 112 total tackles with 12 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, three pass breakups and a pick-six.

The other four All-American teams that will be used to determine consensus All-Americans are those that will be released over the next week by the Football Writers Association of America (Friday), the Associated Press (Monday), Sporting News (Tuesday) and the American Football Coaches Association (Wednesday).

As it stands, four Buckeyes are in line to receive trees in Buckeye Grove as first-team All-Americans this year: Harrison, Johnson, Eichenberg and Dawand Jones, who received first-team All-American honors from PFF and CBS Sports.
