Ohio State remained at No. 3 in both polls after handling then-No. 7 Penn State yesterday, 20-12, in Ohio Stadium.
The Buckeyes will put their lofty ranking on the line this Saturday night in a primetime banger in Camp Randall Stadium against unranked Wisconsin at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
In the Coaches Poll, the top five squads remained static with Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State and Washington holding firm. Last week's No. 6 in the Coaches Poll, Penn State, fell to No. 10 allowing Oklahoma and Texas to bump up to No. 6 and 7 respectively.
Notre Dame (now No. 14), LSU (15th) and Missouri (16th) all jumped four spots. North Carolina felt the biggest drop, seven spots to No. 17 after losing 31-27 at home to unranked Virginia. USC fell six spots to No. 22 after dropping a second-straight game, this time to Utah, 34-32, at home.
Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State are now the lone Big Ten teams in the Coaches Polls after Iowa dropped out following yesterday's loss to Minnesota. Ohio State's next opponent, Wisconsin, received two votes in this week's poll.
In the AP Poll, the top seven mirror the Coaches Poll before Oregon No. 8 and No. 9 ahead of Penn State at No. 10. Wisconsin received one vote. Ohio State received three first-place votes in the AP Poll compared to two in the Coaches Poll.
