Ohio State has added a coach with experience training NFL pass-rushers to its support staff.
Brandon Jordan, who worked as a pass rush specialist for the Seattle Seahawks last year and for Michigan State in 2022, announced Thursday that he is joining Ohio State’s staff as a defensive program assistant.

Jordan’s hiring comes after Ohio State considered using its 10th assistant coaching spot to hire a second defensive line coach to work alongside Larry Johnson. Instead, the Buckeyes used that spot to promote James Laurinaitis to linebackers coach.
While Jordan was one of Michigan State’s 10 full-time assistant coaches during his year in East Lansing, he will not be one of Ohio State’s 10 countable coaches, setting some limitations on what he can do as an on-field coach and recruiter. That said, he’ll be part of a three-man team working with Ohio State’s defensive line this season along with Johnson and graduate assistant LaAllan Clark, who is returning to the Buckeyes for a second year in that capacity.

With Jordan coaching their pass-rushers last season, the Seahawks tied for 11th in the NFL with 47 sacks in 2023.
Jordan is also the CEO of Brandon Jordan Trench Performance and has worked as a skill trainer with more than 200 NFL players, including Cameron Heyward, T.J. Watt, Von Miller, Chandler Jones and Jadeveon Clowney, among others.
