An Ohio State great will serve as guest picker for Saturday’s College GameDay at Ohio State.
Former Ohio State linebacker A.J. Hawk will be the GameDay guest picker for the second time in three years, having previously done the honors before Ohio State’s home game against Michigan in 2022.
Hawk’s selection as guest picker continues a trend of former Ohio State football players joining the show when it’s broadcast from Ohio State’s campus. Justin Fields was the guest picker when College GameDay broadcast from Ohio State before the Buckeyes’ home game against Indiana in November, while C.J. Stroud was the guest picker before Ohio State’s home game against Penn State in 2023.
Hawk played for Ohio State from 2002-05, becoming a two-time All-American and three-time All-Big Ten linebacker for the Buckeyes before going on to an 11-year NFL career, primarily with the Green Bay Packers. Hawk is now a co-host of The Pat McAfee Show on ESPN.
College GameDay will broadcast live from its usual location outside St. John Arena from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday on ESPN. The Buckeyes’ first-round College Football Playoff home game against Tennessee will kick off at 8 p.m. on ABC and ESPN.
